2016 has certainly been an eventful year for me, got married and had two weddings, quit my job of 6 years in the family business & managed to travel with my wife for almost half a year. I'll try to keep it short but the amount of photos I took this year is definitely by far the most memorable for me.
This was the last sunset of 2015 in Phuket, we were invited to spend the NYE with our very good friends from Denmark. Instead of paying an exorbitant amount for the special NYE buffet, we had in room dining right next to these tables also facing the sunset.
This was taken at Yuyuan Gardens in Shanghai just before the Chinese New Year.
Bali, Indonesia during Chinese New Year. The Indonesian new year coincided with the CNY so there were festive decorations everywhere.
I managed to squeeze in a weekend getaway with my childhood friends to Bangkok in March.
Cherry blossom viewing in Tokyo early April.
Hawaiian sunset in April.
Summer festivals in Japan
Summer festival in Tokyo at the famous Sennoji Temple in July.
Mount Fuji sunset shot from Gotemba, where my wife's family lives.
We climbed Mt Fuji to watch the sunrise, highly recommend it.
And thus begins our honeymoon in September, first stop Copenhagen.
Second stop, Prague.
Then to Nice in Southern France.
There really isn't many places that compare to the weather and food in Nice.
One of the many beaches that lined the French Riviera.
More sunset shot from the top of Eze.
To finish up the honeymoon we decided Santorini would be a reasonable choice.
I don't believe I have come across anything as beautiful as the Santorini sunset in my life, it simply is one of the most photogenic places on earth. I was out of control haha.
Sunset at Thira.
We stopped by Athens for a day before we flew back home to Shanghai.
Next up, we went to New Zealand in early November. This shot was taken on a ferry to Waiheke Island where people make wine and be happy.
